You drove to your campsite to spend a great weekend hiking with friends and you have everything set up for a great time. Before all of that though, what items to bring in your day hike kit? I will give you my recommendations and what I take out with me for my personal kit.
There are lots of choices out there for which backpack is best and so forth. Going on day hikes, there are a couple of things I want in my pack. First, enough room to carry items that I may need along the journey. Secondly, to have a bladder with water. The pack that I use has plenty of room and a great bladder and also does not weigh a lot.
SHARKMOUTH Tactical MOLLE Hydration Pack Backpack 900D with 2L Leak-Proof Water Bladder, Keep Liquids Cool for Up to 4 Hours, Daypack for Hiking, Cycling, Running, Hunting, USA Flag Patch
There are many things to put in your pack. Some people will tell you to have so and so and others will tell you other things, I am not one to tell you who is right or not. I will just give you what I take with me because feel like I have a good kit. Mine is simple and small I do feel. I like to carry a survival axe, survival knife, first aid kit, survival kit, flashlight, lighter, matches, multitool, ponchos, some paracord, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, Lifestraw, and I also bring some jerky and trail mix. I am going to put some links in so you can purchase any of the items I personally have.

These are just some of the items to bring for your day hike that I recommend you have in your pack. I would also recommend a good pair of hiking shoes or boots, socks, and layers of clothes (you can always take off but can’t put more on). These again are my recommendations and you can add or take away as you feel.
Cheers! Hope this helps with your future adventures.
