Charleston Local Beer

Fam’s Brewing Company – Famularis

Located at 1291 Folly Road Charleston, SC 29412, Fam’s Brewing Company has it all! First, the atmosphere is awesome! You get a great relaxed, fun, down-to-earth feel. Second, if you are looking for great food, especially pizza, this is the place for you! I would have to say, this is my favorite pizza location in Charleston. Third, it has a great outdoor patio with a bar as long as inside. This is a perfect place to stop when coming back from Folly Beach which is only 9 miles away. What better way to celebrate a great day at the beach! Finally, the beer! This place has amazing Charleston local beer that is brewed in-house. They have many different styles of beer, constantly on a rotation. Check out their website, here.

Frothy Beard Brewing Company

Frothy Beard Brewing Company is a great place for Charleston local beer. This brewery is located in the West Ashley part of Charleston at 1401 Sam Rittenberg BLVD, Charleston, SC 29407. Besides having a great outdoor area to eat and drink, you will find plenty of things going on here. Located around the restaurant, there are many board games to play while having great discussions or listening to a great live band. Tied in Frothy Beard is Zombie Bob’s Pizza. The pizza is incredible and large! This establishment makes great beer too! They like to have awesome specials with limited releases of their beer. Take a look at their website here

Strawberry Blonde Ale

Blonde Ale – 5.2% ABV

A blonde ale crammed with as many fresh strawberries as they can fit into the fermenter so that the result is a lightly red colored ale with a fresh strawberry aroma and a light berry flavor. Perfect for summer days.

I highly recommend this place for great Charleston local beer. Sit back enjoy a great beer with a large slice of pizza with friends and family. I give this establishment a 4-Pint rating.

Red’s Ice House

This is probably one of my favorite spots in Charleston. Located at 98 Church St, Mount Pleasant, SC, Red’s Ice house sits on Shem Creek. Here, you will see boats pull up to the restaurants, shrimping boats unloaded their catches, kayakers, paddleboarders, and even dolphins swimming. If you are looking for a great place to relax, eat some fresh seafood, take in a local beer, and listen to a band, this is your place. I will tell you that it is always packed with people. It is almost impossible to not have a great time here. This is a must-visit establishment while in Charleston. Check out their website here.
